In the field of audio engineering, using plugins on the master bus of digital audio workstations (DAWs) to correct room acoustics has been common practice.
However, this approach has notable drawbacks, such as the need to manually disable the plugin before exporting audio and the inability to use the correction outside of the DAW. IK Multimedia pioneered the industry with ARC (Advanced Room Correction) system, setting a standard in room correction technology. Despite its innovative contribution, traditional console-based music studios and modern digital broadcasting facilities still face challenges in accessing room correction with plugin-only solutions. To overcome these issues, we designed ARC Studio, a game changing compact hardware audio processor that seamlessly integrates with every existing audio setup. The goal has been to encapsulate the quality and precision of the ARC room correction into a simple and transparent sounding audio processor.
Key Features:
- Comprehensive all-in-one room correction system with a measurement microphone, software, and external hardware processor
- Microphone can be powered by any audio interface with at least one +48V phantom power input
- Software guides you through each step and contains X-Monitor virtual monitoring profiles, sweet spot adjustments, multiple monitor/listening position setups, can define upper and lower frequency correction ranges separately, and much more
- Easily transfer correction filters and presets to the hardware processor via USB-C, with 2 USB cables included (USB-C to A and USB-C to C)
- Hardware processor features professional-grade XLR I/O, 32-bit AD/DA conversion, 96kHz internal sampling rate, and ultra-low latency/jitter/Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)
- Processor’s top-quality ESS-brand converters deliver more than 120dB of dynamic range
- DAW-based studios don’t need to bypass the processor before bouncing mixes
- Retains zero-latency monitoring configurations for studios with Pro Tools HDX systems
- Radio/TV broadcast studios can easily audition how audio will sound on multiple systems, even during live broadcasts
- Helps post-production houses mix dialogue, music, and sound FX that will translate well to all pro and consumer playback systems
- Console-based studios can also benefit from room correction even when mixing “outside the box”
- Included in the box: ARC Studio Hardware Processor, ARC MEMS measurement microphone, PSU 5V, USB-C to USB-A cable, and USB-C to USB-C cable
